It’s a bit short-sighted to assume that choosing a sorority should be driven by national reputation or alum connections. While it’s true that you’re a member for life the relationships you build during college will have a much more immediate and lasting impact than some vague possibility of a networking opportunity years down the road. Also, strong national presence doesn’t guarantee a strong alum network in every city or that you’ll even use it. Real sisterhood and support during college should matter more than a hypothetical job lead 10 years from now. And I’m sorry but it is sad if you are 45 still bragging about what sorority you pledged at 18.
