I know it's not on your radar right now, but joining a sorority is for more than four years. I rushed reluctantly at a smaller school, but still in the south. I had no idea what to expect. I had a lot of houses in the beginning and felt I rushed well, but was down to one before prefs. I was going to drop out, but my Rho Chi encouraged me to stick with it (and became my big). I ended up in the perfect place for me (it would be OR at Bama) and beyond a great four years, it opened so many doors after graduation. I was offered my first two jobs because that house was on my resume, every city I've moved to the first thing I do it contact the alumni association and have immediate friends, and a weird aside, but every time I've met a woman who I just click with, it always turns out she's in my sorority as well. It sounds cliche to say trust the process, but for many of us it worked. Stay positive and good luck!
