Keep in mind some of that cost goes towards meals, which you have to pay for somewhere regardless. If someone goes through recruitment, this info about costs (and where the money goes- meals, house fee, etc) should be presented during the process. It’s a good idea to start the discussions now with parents or try to figure out if it’s feasible. Good luck.
