FYI- you don’t always get the first house you Pref. Many, many PNMs get their second house. If you rank both houses at Pref, you are telling both houses you would accept a bid from either of them. You are guaranteed a bid from one of the two houses if you Pref both. Some girls sit. Pref both houses they visit because they don’t want a bid from one of them. They then just Pref one house and risk not getting a bid. It is highly, highly recommended NOT to do that. Once you Pref, you can drop out of recruitment but then you are ineligible to accept a bid via COB or spring recruitment. You’d have to wait a year to try again.
