I was a rush advisor at another southern campus for a few years. We missed quota by 1 one year and we snapped a girl who we released between sisterhood & Pref…..chapter liked her she just didn’t have enough votes to make the Pref invitation list. She then withdrew from rush b/c she didn’t like her options for Pref….don’t know what or how many Pref options she had. We went from 6 max sisterhood to 3 Pref back then. When we found out we needed to snap 1 new member, we sorted the Panhellenic list of no-bid PNM’s by the last party of ours attended, then pulled our voting records. We would definitely NOT have snapped a PNM cut after Open House. There were probably 5ish PNM’s on the list we would have been open to snapping. Think we have a ranked list of 3 to Panhellenic in case our top pick(s) declined the snap. I have heard most sororities on most campuses work the same way if they miss quota.
