Their national would prefer that they did formal recruitment, but they recognize that the chapter is at a disadvantage on this campus. They've tried doing formal before, but PNMs were awful to them and got on GreekRank to complain that they were "messing up quota." Most PNMs chose to drop out of recruitment or turn down their bid if they only had SDT left. National could close the chapter or make the actives go alum and start from scratch, but it would be a PR disaster, not to mention it would be an uphill battle to persuade PNMs to join. Letting them do their own thing is the best option.
