So let's look at the "best" schools: Harvard - Alpha Phi was the only panhellenic that stayed when the admin banned sororities. Kappa and Theta left. Alpha Phi stayed to defend women's rights. UCLA - Alpha Phi is the top sorority (founded in 1924 - a long time ago) Berkeley - Alpha Phi is in the top level (founded in 1919 - a long time ago) MIT - Alpha Phi is the top sorority Duke - Alpha Phi is in the top level Northwestern - Alpha Phi is in the top level (founded in 1881 - a long time ago) Yale - Alpha Phi is top level tied with Theta (there are only 4 sororities there). Kappa is "bottom". UVA - Alpha Phi is top level at about #4. And on and on and on.... fyi - Even if you are correct that Alpha Phi was an "also ran" before 1990. 1990 was 32 years ago.
