The issue is that because she posted her $2k shorts on TikTok, now it’s public (and has gone viral) and everyone has an opinion on it. If she hadn’t posted it to TikTok, yes, maybe those shorts wouldn’t have fit the vibe with some sororities, or maybe people would have been oblivious to the cost and it wouldn’t have really been an issue. Or maybe some houses would have eaten it up! But the fact that it’s now public is the issue. Someone made a video juxtaposing kylan talking about philanthropy with a photo of the $2k price tag and THAT is what could make houses feel the ick of wanting to be associated with that (some might love it, some might not). Based on her videos, i do think she would also have a lot of positive things to offer a chapter, and I’m all for PNMs having fun with this process and think the videos are cute, but considering this is her major kylan should know it’s definitely not without risk, sadly especially in today’s cancel culture. The shorts may or may not be the issue, but having the negative publicity certainly may be (and for any houses that do take issue with it have to think it will continue to be an issue as an active).
