Phi Mu is an amazing house with a rich tradition, and they mixed with OR fraternities before becoming OR. Until the early '90s, though, much more of the concept of "Old Row" (and a group's ranking within OR) was wrapped up in how long your chapter had been on campus and where you were from. Phi Mu was considered slightly too "new" (1931) and didn't pull from the same traditional areas as the other OR sororities. The main thing behind them being admitted to OR was Minda Riley vs. The Machine.
