I joined Kappa and dropped before initiation. I’m from Boston and didn’t realize all the Kappas basically know each other and I didn’t know anyone in my pledge class. Nobody made any effort to include me and social events happened that some pledges were not even invited to. Going to the house for meals was horrible. I was a total outsider. I’m pretty outgoing so I tried. I pref’d Kappa over the other house I visited because I was torn between the two houses and I listened to the Southern girls in my group that told me Kappa was a top house and the other one was not. BIG MISTAKE! I’m now going through recruitment again this year as a sophomore with an entirely different perspective and I’ve met a lot of friends in other houses so I hope that helps me. Judge all you want but I DON’T want to be a KKG, KD, PM, AGD, DDD or Zeta because they are all generally pretty mean girls and save all the comments about how they don’t want me either…
