To be seriously considered for places non phi delt you probably need to have gone to camp with / be family friends with / gone to the same prep school as current members of the chapter or alumni. Likewise, friend groups form based on these already established connections and their is an emphasis on staying in the south and in these circles. If you don't fit that crew you may be an outcast or not have as much fun.. New row will take guys from all over so they are more open to meeting new guys and making new friends. My two cents.
