hey pnms! I know people on here always try to tell you not to listen to greek rank stereotypes and all that, and I guess to some degree, they’re right. There are a lot of trolls on here and there has been a lot of exaggeration, but at the end of the day, I would honestly tell you to listen to at least some of it. I came from OOS with pretty much no connections at bama but all during the summer before rush i read up on all the houses’ reputations and decided which houses i at least thought COULD be the best fits for me. When I went through rush, a house not on that list ended up surprising me and I had the best convos I had all week with them. I almost preffed/went them, but ultimately I decided to pref 2 of my original houses and go my top choice. And I have no regrets. I say all that to say that while houses can surprise you, and sometimes they CAN end up being the best fit for you, you know yourself. Most houses here have some sort of reputation, and yes, while not every girl in the house fits that, if you’re a big party girl, you probably wouldn’t be happiest in a house not known for that. If you’re really wanting to be involved on campus, you probably wouldn’t like your house not prioritizing helping you get connected. Go into rush at least being aware of what you want because Ik the house that surprised me would not have fit me best at the end of the day based on what people I know in that house have told me. Don’t go a house because of that one really cool active you talk to all week that could be your big. You can still get coffee with that girl whenever you want. Look at the house as a whole and do what’s best for you.
