The answer to your question, is what makes it brutal is there so many girls rushing, more than any other school and each house it limited to how many girls they can take, so the more recs you have the better your chances. Not any rec but direct chapter recs. Certain houses place priority heavily on direct house legacies from towns in Alabama because girls from those places will most likely stay connected to the chapter. Having said that, if you have the grades, personality, the appearance you will find a house for you as long as you don't buy into the crap that certain houses are better than others.
