I’d say the ranks are really based on overall status on campus and PNM interest. Obviously UA’s rush is one of the largest in the nation, so if a house has the ability to do massive cuts each round then it really speaks to their popularity... for example, house ABC will cut hundreds of girls after the first round simply because they don’t have recs because the house is that popular. And as I mentioned, status plays into ranks as well. Obviously, social status and looks play a big part but I’d say campus involvement and academics play a big role too. A house is a “top” house because they have girls that “have it all.”
