Grade risks are any girl below what each house sets. Most houses ask for 3.2-3.3 as their minimum. 3.0 is considered a grade risk for those houses. Some will go as far as 2.7. But, these are deep exceptions. Most grade risks need an explanation from a rec writer or in-house member as to why those grades are not reflective of this PNM ( family member or PNM had a medical illness, etc) going forward. I would suggest waiting until your sophomore year. Concentrate on college your freshman year. You can still have fun and many girls ( even in Tut) in the dorms won’t be in Greek life. Join a club. GPA’s for current students are weighed differently. A 3.1-3.3 freshman year is considered equal to a 3.4-3.5 HS GPA. All houses are accepting of sophomores, especially when in house members know the member from their classes or the dorms.
