Less common but in addition to things said above, GPA being very high in combination with a difficult major (ex- engineering) May not necessarily happen depending on how badly the house wants a girl pre-rush but often girls are assumed to be boring by ‘party’ houses and they’d rather have a girl who’ll party any day of the week with them than someone staying home to study. You can also just avoid reminding the girl of your major during conversation. If you’re ‘smarter’ and more academic based I wouldnt worry about this as an issue because the houses that’d drop over this wouldn’t be a great fit anyways.
