Yes, it does. Not being from Alabama there will be bias against you during recruitment because "Old Row" sororities prefer PNMs from AL, many of whom have connections. These sororities are the ones that are ranked as "top" on this site by their members and crazy alumnae who stalk this website. If you're out of state (but still in the southern region), that is going to affect your rush. If you're out of state and out of region, that is also going to affect your rush. It just is what it is. Nothing you can do about it other than get off this site, ignore the rankings, and be open to every single house on this campus. Trust me, every house on this campus is amazing.
