in most regular years, there is a specific quota each house has to meet for the amount of upperclassmen they have to take, meaning that most sophomores (if they don't have major grade or social risks) end up in much better houses than they would if they rushed freshman year.I know a girl who rushed freshman year and got theta and then dropped before initiation, rushed again and went kappa. the one risk you have is your behavior on campus throughout your freshman year. you'll have more interactions with active members meaning that if they see you messy at fraternities, stealing someone's guy, or if you just don't get along with them you'll most likely be dropped by their house.
