DG had the power of the Provost (and soon to be president) Judy Bonner, an alumna, pulling for them, as well as available land for construction (The DG house isn't that old. DG also had a significant alumni base in the area and didn't need a significant amount of time to establish a reputation. In fact, DG already had their new house in-construction right around the time they recolonized. DG re-establishing was a very coordinated effort.
