Everything about this comment is spot on and great advice. I was in a similar situation (although I was from far OOS with no connections so I didn’t so much have the feeling as a PNM that I was “better” than certain houses). I had one house on pref and I didn’t dislike the house, but at no point in the week had I been excited about it and pref didn’t change my mind about that. I figured I’d be way happier in ANY house than as a gdi, so I took the bid. I couldn’t have picked a better house for myself, and looking back the houses I loved during rush would not have been the right fit for me. My house has given me my best friends and helped me become so much more outgoing, confident, and fun. I know “everything happens for a reason” is so cliche to say, but I ended up in the perfect place even though I was upset at the time. And to be clear, I didn’t fall in love with my house instantly, it took a while to find my place. Give whatever house you end up in until initiation before you decide if you want to drop and I can almost guarantee you’ll be glad you gave it a chance.
