^ I was actually also PC '16. On Sisterhood I only had two houses left and the one house I really liked of those two dropped me after that round. So I went into Pref with only one house, knowing I was guaranteed a bid there. But I just didn't like the house. I went into rush thinking that I would never pledge a handful of houses because I thought they were beneath me (honestly I was such a brat). I was so upset that I put so much effort into rush and was left with one house that I didn't like and I strongly considered dropping from rush before signing the agreement. BUT I figured that I went through rush already and it would be ignorant of me to not at least give the house a few weeks. SO I went through with everything, got the bid, ran home, went on retreat, etc. Not gonna lie - the first 2-3 weeks were HARD getting acclimated to the house. But three years later I can genuinely say that this house suites me so well. It wasn't my first choice any day throughout rush but it made me believe that everything does happen for a reason and you end up where you're supposed to be. My house compliments me SO well and I've made the best of friends. Girl to girl: Not everything works out how you want it to but that's life. I know how certain houses may not be the most glitzy or have the most status but EVERY house provides you with the same foundation of friends, parties, events, etc. If you let your stubbornness get in the way of the experience of a lifetime then you're missing out. Does it suck that rush didn't go the way you wanted it to? YES, I've been there, and hundreds of other girls have been there too. But those same hundreds of girls all made a home of the house they were given.
