Joining a colonizing chapter results in less true leadership experience. Nationals and colonizing teams will call the shots and you will be boxed in to their strict structure. It is often really challenging to adapt to the Alabama culture while being constrained by the nationals. No flexibility. Look at how long it took other newer houses to be accepted and taken seriously. It takes 5-10 years before anyone seriously looks at you as anything other then alternative or left over. It was very frustrating to be a part of conlonizing here. I love my sisters and it was cool to be an alpha class but my time there would have been more fun if I had gone with an existing house. Just the perspective from an alum who has been there.
