Poster Name:Colonies
Poster Message:
My prediction comes backed with years of working with RFM on my chapter’s recruitment team and helping my chapter colonize at a different school. SK’s new PC will likely have a preponderance of upperclassmen because their HQ will want to establish leadership in the chapter right away. They’ll want girls who are already highly involved on campus so they can go recruit other unaffiliated girls. They will certainly take a spring PC. In terms of their freshmen, there will likely be a group of girls who thought they weren’t a good fit for the chapters they had left from formal recruitment (interpret that how you want) and they’ll drop out to try for SK. There will also be girls released from recruitment or who never considered formal recruitment who go for SK because their style of recruitment will be more laid back. For the next few semesters, they’ll likely get dragged on here for being “new” on a campus that values tradition. Some chapters might see them as a threat (if PNMs would rather try a chapter with no reputation over one with a bad reputation) or they’ll welcome them because they’ll see what a great and unique addition they make. Hopefully the PC they take is full of classy girls who don’t try to self-rank like some colonies at other schools but find the balance between fitting in and being themselves. It’ll take a while to develop that identity. And for anyone fearmongering on here saying they’ll fail, please cite the last failed sorority colony at a school with a Greek system as large as Alabama. No one makes an investment this large without a guarantee of financial success. And, as people have stated before, RFM was invented to make sure that what happened in the 70s, 80s, and 90s doesn’t happen again.
