This is the problem I think with alpha phi’s nationals kicking out all those girls and keeping them on campus. Why is it fair to those PNMs who get a bid from them who may be blindsided by what they are getting themselves into? I’m sure there is, understandably, a lot of internal turmoil in that house right now and it just seems like a disservice to the PNMs. IF worst case scenario happens and they have a really bad rush, I can see the less desired PNMs who are cut to one or two houses but who are otherwise nice girls being really upset about having alpha phi left as an option. For example before, if a PNM only preffed one house and it was a different lower house, technically the only complaint is that they’re bottom. But if a PNM is only left with alpha phi this year I can see why she would think “now how is this okay, I’m being forced to join a house with all these internal issues.” Of course that scenario completely depends on how rush goes, but I can see sigma kappa being a huge fallback option for any girls that happens to. I think honestly joining a colony might seem like less of an undertaking than bringing alpha phi back to life for some girls, with the added bonus that they don’t have a reputation yet.
