Actually there are not "Old Row" sororities, only "Old Row" fraternities. What is now become the popular description for certain sororities is they got invited to the "Old Row" Fraternity mega-party. Why did they get invited is those particular sororities were heavily populated with girls from the hometowns of the "Old Row" fraternity members. Since the "Old Row" fraternities have preferences in geographic areas they tend to recruit from, they know the girls from those areas and where they tended to wind up sorority wise. Because this party has gone on for several decades with the same sororities they started to be called "Old Row" sororities.
