Genuinely wondering why people frequently bring up “being strong nationally” as a plus when ranking house and “being weak nationally” as a reason to put them down in the ranks. All the houses here clearly have enough backing from their nationals to build $10+ million dollar mansions, so no group here has incredibly weak nationals. I get that when you go through rush you think of the reps of the houses back home, but as a west coast girl I had no interest in joining APhi or DG just because they are top at my local state schools (I joined a house that is weak or nonexistent at colleges near me because I cared about the UA chapter, not those ones)
