No! It's actually volunteer based, or at least it is in my house. Basically for every swap and date party, my house requires X amount of sober girls to 1. sign people in, 2. sign people out, and 3. monitor the actual event. My house almost never has an issue finding sober monitors because there actually are girls in Greek life who either abstain from drinking or just don't like to. And I don't think we've ever used it as a punishment. The girls who monitor parties can still like dance and have fun, they just can't drink and need to be more vigilant. Also, Exec has to be sober at every event as well.
