I am one to give OR it’s rank at Bama Dont dispute it. But it IS about Alabama and certain regional connections. People who are “known” here. OR spends the most rime and is well regarded as a result. A student who is just as smart, friendly, social, attractive and wealthy - from CA, NY, IL, OH, etc - isn’t perceived as well because they have no connections here. So, if You are coming from Alabama or certainly. Other regional areas with a big draw here - these connections and acceptance are important. OR (and ZTA would be ok) are a big deal. And this is still matters to about half the students here. Honestly, if this is not you, it’s not big deal. I wouldn’t say to avoid it, but at the same time, I would t worry about it.
