As someone from the NorthEast where old money is actually prevalent, I can 100% say that the wealthy Southern kids that attend UA are not from old money. I mean, are they wealthy? Yes, very. But is it old money? No. Kids from families with old money would not attend a giant state school like UA. They go to schools like Vanderbilt, Emory, UVA, Wake Forrest, Chapel Hill, Richmond, etc... Or they either go up North to the Ivies or West to Stanford and UCLA.
