If you want to live in house you usually can get a spot somewhere in your 4 years. As someone above said, it's based on seniority and good standing... The funnel goes: Exec, seniors, highest GPAs, most involved. Most houses have spaces for about 70 girls and honestly I don't think the demand is that high... It's basically like having to live in a dorm again and a lot of girls are off put by the rules they need to follow... There are quiet hours, no alcohol is allowed in the house, no boys are allowed upstairs like ever, and sometimes you need to leave the house because of events. Sometimes a spot will open up throughout the school year if a girl living in house drops... I knew an ADPi who lived in house her freshman year because there was an opening halfway through the fall semester. Overall, living in house is a great option if you tend to be very involved in your house and you don't mind communal settings.
