1. No alcohol is allowed in the house. Do girls still hide alcohol in their rooms? Yeah but no alcohol is allowed in the house, even for girls of age, because it's a huge liability. Sorority houses are supposed to be alcohol free and this is mandated in insurance policies houses have. So for example, if a fire were to burn down the house they sorority can collect the insurance money on it... But if investigators found bottles of alcohol the sorority would lose the opportunity to collect the insurance money. This is why alcohol isn't even allowed in the house on game days or before/after date parties and swaps. Pretty sure this insurance stuff is the same reason why you can't have candles. 2. Houses have different bedroom layouts. I'm pretty sure there are single and double occupancy options, obviously the single being more expensive. And from what I've seen in most houses, there are also different sizes of the layouts. You'll have your standard narrow bedroom like that of Tut. But then there are also options for larger rooms so I guess it depends on which type of room you have in terms of being cramped. 3. Food is good. And there are lots of options in all houses. You have 3 hot meals everyday Mon-Thurs and 2 hot meals Friday. In addition to the hot meals all houses also have salad bars and most houses have deli meat and cheese if you want to make a sandwich. Plus a lot of snacks. 4. Most girls who live in the houses park in the sorority parking deck or the Tut parking lot... Which can is a quick walk. 5. The biggest plus for living in house is location. You're living on campus which is rare for upperclassmen unless you choose to be an RA. You're a 5 minute walk from the bars and half of the frats, you're a 5 minute walk to the quad, and you're right in front of the stadium on game days.
