I'm from CT so for me UA is almost 1000 miles away. Only one other person from my high school went to UA and he was a guy so that didn't help much. Not gonna lie, in high school I liked the idea of sorority life because it looked glamorous... Living in a multi-million dollar mansion and having a bunch of hot friends sounded like fun. But I kind of had a reality shock during rush on Pref. I realized that there are girls from all walks of life and from all different kinds of backgrounds. And I realized that sorority life isn't just pretty girls and parties. I realized that these organizations are for bettering you as a person. Are there mean and catty girls? Yeah definitely. But the majority of girls in these houses are sincere and have changed for the better because of the ideals their houses hold them to. I adore my sorority because it provided me with so much more than I originally thought. The friends and memories are priceless. Being just one person at a school with 30000+ undergrads makes you feel insignificant and can be overwhelming at times... But being a sister in a house of 400 who hand chose you during rush gives you something to be a part of that's bigger than yourself.
