As a freshmen last year from out of state rushing it was the best thing I could have done. My grades were better because you have 140 freshmen sisters that are taking your classes and willing to help. You will have neighbors in your dorm room in Greek life that will be going to all the events. This can leave you feeling left out in the sense you can't relate to them. I'm not saying it's a must but it's a huge part of the campus. Greek life if anything helps you way more than being on your own school wise. I think you should go through rush and if you find out it isn't helping just drop.
