I agree with the statement that Greek life won't transform you into the perfect student but it definitely does help. As someone who has been on academic probation with my sorority (my sorority put anyone with under a 3.0 semester GPA on academic probation) I can say that there's a lot of incentive and support to work hard and achieve good grades. On probation, I couldn't go to any swaps or date parties. I couldn't even be a sober monitor at them. It sucked. But my house had monthly meetings with our academic advisors and alum to keep us on track. On top of that, we had significantly increased study hours that had to be logged at a library. My house also had an insanely big test bank. My house also had tutors for most subjects come in every Sunday afternoon. Greek life isn't going to transform you into an overachieving student but sororities undoubtedly provide an immense collection of resources to help their girls. I know girls who have had very average grades in high school and they've become an A/B student because of the consistent support my sorority provided. Idk that's just my take on it. Also I guess it's worth noting that my house is usually somewhere in the top 7 in the grade report.
