<strong>Subject:</strong><br />would you pay for recs?<br /><br /> Poster Message:
Hi I'm an alumna of a sorority with a large national footprint and I usually write about 20-30 letters of recommendation each year, including Alabama. It seems however that there's a much stronger emphasis on recs lately, or maybe much higher recruitment numbers, as I am being bombarded left and right with requests for letters of recommendation, many from girls I don't even know! (someone must have passed my info along as a person to reach out to) Anyway, I'm getting pretty burnt out from meeting up for coffee, reading resumes and writing recs over and over and over again so I thought maybe I should start charging for letters. Especially if I don't know the girl and have to interview her and work from scratch. The big question is how much should I charge? Let's assume there's a market for this, as demand is very high and many girls seem desperate for recs. I figure if people don't want to pay it will at least lessen the number of letters I have to write. So PNMs, would you pay $10 for a good recommendation? $25? How about $100 for a rec? Actives, think about how much recs were worth to you when you were going through recruitment. How much would you pay? I hope this doesn't offend anyone, as it is an honest question.
