If you arrive here knowing (or knowing about) people that you want to be with and find yourself placed in a house outside of that group - I can see the “devastation” of the outcome. If you don’t already have that “knowledge” and concern with being with those you already know, I think it’s fair to say that “top ranks” mean nothing.
