This is true, or it could work out fine. My boyfriend is in college far away, and we've had no trouble staying together my Freshman year with me in a sorority. He's in a school that doesn't allow him to leave whenever he wants, so that means he's not here for date parties or formal. We were both worried about how it would work out (and he was very concerned about me going to Swaps and stuff), but we've made it work so far. I've even gone to a couple of date parties and a formal with a guy friend, so I don't feel like I'm missing out on much at all. I'm not naive enough to think that this means that we'll always be together and spend the rest of our lives together, but for now, it is working. I'd imagine its even easier when he's here on campus, and you can see him more than a couple of holidays a year.
