The cost of one house is never going to be dramatically more than any other. Find a job that pays above minimum wage and work there as much as you can fit into your schedule while balancing classes. I worked 16 hours a semester my freshman year and now I do 24. There's also babysitting and tutoring which might fit your schedule better.
