Ok here. There are a few reasons why fewer and fewer sororities participate every year. 1. We just had greek week and a lot of people don’t think sigma chi should be able to take up another whole week of our lives. 2. Events are questionable. There are other ways to raise money besides bull riding and a water balloon contest, which will basically amount to a wet T-shirt contest. 3. Many of the events are not philanthropy based, like the house decorating competition. Sororities have to buy massive amounts of craft supplies that get thrown away at the end of the week. 4. Sigma chi has never supported our philanthropy events. It is just not worth it for a lot of sororities.
