High GPA will likely get you through the first round at most houses. Low GPA will likely get you dropped. After that, high GPA is meaningless. This is confusing to pnm not familiar with rush and wonder how they were let go with a top GPA. Here it is connections, connections, connections. They will pull you all the way through even with low grades and without them, no GPA, no matter how high will help you. You have to have someone pulling for you from the inside, at every round, and willing to put their word on the line for you. This is tough for OOS who come in unknown and have very little time to make an impression. Even with recs and a top GPA you will likely face deep cuts. Don't worry there are a handful of houses that will give you a chance and take a risk on you. We lose out on great girls this way but we also don't take the risk of bringing in the wrong girls for our house. Houses that take the chance are frequently rewarded with amazing sisters but also occasionally end up with messes. Those great unknown pnm going to houses who take the chance on them is one reason all of our houses are so strong.
