they don't have to live on dorms all years. they get some money for living in apartments. not sure how much, or if it's cheaper for them to live in dorms or apartments, but i'm sure the difference isn't much and apartments beat dorms, so most don't. Very few athletes are greek, and VERY VERY few football and basketball players. most are black. everyone wants to talk about ranks and so on, but TBT the real top tier students at bama (or any other school for that matter) are athletes and the nerdy pre-med student's etc. you can add a few (very few) greeks in the top tier. i am not going to name names, but every one knows who they are. they don't wear game day stickers, they don't put their letters in their insta bios WHY? because they have other things going on. That's not to say they are stuck up, they aren't. Everyone likes them in their house, they just don't "have to" find a date for formal, they get asked out regardless.
