Definitely make friends with members of fraternities. You can even go to their national websites and submit a rush contact form. Some of the local chapters may even have one as well. You can even walk by their house and if you see some guys standing around outside, introduce yourself. Ask if the rush chairman is around. The worse case you register for rush when it is opened up by IFC and attend the various open house events next Fall. Though many houses may have already filled their pledge classes by then.
