Get two really, really strong recs for both. Preferably in-house alums or people that are still involved in PM/AXO's leadership in an alum capacity. Both of these houses tend to give bids to strong PNMs without connections, at least more than the rest of old row. However, don't get your sights set on two. Every house is awesome and the qualities that you like at PM and AXO can surely be found in other houses. Make sure you get recs for them too!! Good luck!
