No, I did not go through formal recruitment my freshman year. My roommate was in a sorority but I didn't really love her group of friends. I lived in Tut, so I recognized some faces going through recruitment but I only really knew about 10 girls in all the houses. I did fill out the form for COB my freshman year. I was invited to a couple of houses but was not extended a bid. I also was invited to only 3 spring teas that year. Again, this was my own experience. I landed in a "top" old row house when I did my formal recruitment. My pref houses were 2 old row and one new row (all different levels on this site- I liked the other two just fine and would have been more than proud to wear their letters). Also, my house has a once cut, always cut rule. So, the only way we would take an upperclassman is if they have never gone through formal recruitment.
