This is really exaggerating. If you ACTUALLY look at the pledge classes for AXO and XO, you will see that maybe 40% of them are from out of state. Even if half of those OOS girls have connections in some way, that means a full 1/5 of the pledge class has 0 connections. At this point it is simply impossible to fill a class of 140 with girls you already know. Yes chances are lower for this girl than they would be for someone with connections but I think saying OOS girls have "no chance" at old row houses perpetuates a stereotype that is increasingly untrue. The reality is that girls without connections ARE getting into old row houses on merit, and the old row houses that won't take them are the houses that are falling.
