Bama people are really friendly so don't worry about it. One cultural difference you will notice is that dress is significantly more formal. I'm from Arizona and most of my friends show up to game day in ripped booty shorts that barely cover anything plus a tee shirt they've cropped and ripped up so it's basically a decoration piece for their bralette, lol. At Alabama girls are going to be wearing skirts, dresses, a lot will be in heels instead of Converse or flip flops. Guys wear ties instead of ratty tee shirts. etc. Just something to keep in mind.
