I'm a Mom and alumni (and NOT a KD, nor is my child) I'll address the Facts: 1. This is a random post from Facebook. None of us have any idea what happened to make that mother post what she posted. You obviously don't have children, because it is entirely possible that: A. Somehow the mom found out her daughter was drinking and the girl tried to cover it up with a story. Kids do this ALL the TIME. B. The girl isn't a drinker and freaked out at the other girls drinking and puking and panicked. At that point, she could have said anything. C. Any number of things, could have occurred, but we don't know, because NONE of us were part of that conversation. NO ONE can say what did or didn't occur in that conversation. The fact is, children lie. They exaggerate, they interrupt things going on around them in a way that may or may not be correct. Just like adults, to be honest. 2. Since it appears that KD has gotten no punishment for this, the story is obviously missing important facts. If this happened, the University would be doing something. Their Nationals would be investigating, and their activities would have ceased. If it were my sorority, Nationals would have halted their parties and there would have been an investigation. It's happened at other schools and would happen here. KD appears to still be having parties, and there is nothing happening to them. No one is covering up for them. Hazing is serious, and no National organization wants the press that comes along with something like this. 3. The lack of press is yet another reason why this was obviously not what it seemed. If there was anything to this story, the Press would be on it. They LOVE to rip on Greeks, and the chance to rip on the biggest Greek system in the country? They'd be all over it. 4. (Warning: Now my Mom-side is gonna come out) If this story was true, and that Mom thought that her daughter was being forced to drink and ride with drunk people, she'd be raising holy hell. She wouldn't stop at a post on Facebook. She'd be ALL over the University and KD as an organization. I'd be running to the media, I'd be calling the University, I'd be dealing with Nationals every day, and I'd be their NIGHTMARE. Once again, nothing is happening to KD, it's not in the media, so that isn't happening. More likely, that mom found out that the story wasn't what she originally thought it was. No one would bully a concerned Mom into being quiet for something like that. Her daughter isn't even in the sorority anymore according to you, so she has nothing to fear from making this a big deal. This Mom obviously found out, after posting that message, that the story wasn't quite what she was told. I don't know what happened, you don't know what happened. There is no story here. The constant posts about it on both sides are serving no purpose. This site has no actual bearing on anything, and it's ridiculous at this point. The story is over.\n\n\n\n\n
