Mom here. Back when I went to Bama they were girls who rushed at places like Auburn, UNA, USA, MS State, etc and then transferred to Tuscaloosa for spring semester in case they wanted to be in a certain sorority and weren't sure if they could make the cut at UA. This is the main reason why transfers technically must be voted on in order to be re-admitted to a chapter. That rule did not exist until girls started using this loophole.
