^^^Uh, wrong. SK will participate in IWT's to introduce all pnms to their sorority. Then, after formal rush is over, SK's colonization rush will begin. It will likely be a combination of 1 on 1 interviews with SK alumni & national officers and a more traditional party or two (including a pref ceremony & Bid Day celebration). Usually actives from other college's SK chapters help with the colonization process. Any event after interviews is by invitation only. Yes, they will "be a sorority right away." The new chapter will be a colony until the new member period is over and then the chapter will be installed when everyone is initiated. No, they absolutely will not accept everyone. If recent SEC colonies are any indication, they'll offer about half the PNM's who expressed interest a bid. I think Arkansas DG had about 500 pnms go through last year and around 250 got bids. The big difference between colony rush and formal rush is that colonies are actively looking for members from all four classes, not just 90% freshmen. They need the new chapter to be successful & will be recruiting upperclassmen who are in visible leadership positions on campus. They will need members who can immediately step up and serve as chapter President and VP's. They will want girls with high gpa's who have already demonstrated they can keep their grades up while being involved in activities....starting a new chapter is A LOT of work.
