You won't know if they aren't on your schedule because they released you or because your pref schedule filled up before their invitation. BUT- depending on which group - your mom might know that her chapter did not release you if she didn't get a call tonight. I don't know every chapter's policy regarding legacies but my chapter has to call the legacy's relative and let them know she'll be released in the AM before every round. I've heard that occasionally legacies will cut us and tell their moms/ sisters that we cut them and then that's an awkward phone call that mom/sister makes to the house when they find out the legacy lied to them.... You're doing the right thing by following your heart but don't do the wrong thing by lying to your mom.
